After a trial with the Italian promotor of dam project Kaliçav on river Vjosa, the albanian government declared reopened the invitation to tender. Industrials have to apply before July 18th. About 30 international researchers give a conference on an island of the Vjosa to ask for studies on this river before it be human-managed by dams. It has been said that the sediments washed along the river could be detrimental to hydropower production. This hypothesis had not been considered yet in the projects.

The same day is published the ruling of the albaian administrative court about one of the Vjosa dam project "Poçem" : the project is cancelled because of the lack of proper public survey and failure to respect the albanian environmental law. This historic decisions follows the action by several NGOs, 38 residents and supported by many scientists.
